Ronnie Wood Tells Doherty: ‘stop Painting With Blood’…. Artistic rocker Ronnie Wood has urged Pete Doherty to stop painting with blood, insisting he should learn using more traditional tools first.

The Rolling Stone, whose paintings have earned him critical acclaim and can command $120,000 (£63,000) each, fears Doherty is using human blood just for effect.

Wood says, “When I met Pete he’s a soft spoken soul. I don’t know what his frustrations are. I’d say to him, ‘Yes, paint in blood, but you’re jumping the gun by using it as your first medium.’ You can’t just start with people’s blood when there’s as much blood in a pencil.

“I’m sure if he knew he could do as much with a brush and a guitar he’d be great.”
