Movie-maker ROB MARSHALL hopes his new movie MEMOIRS OF A GEISHA wins him an Academy Award in March (06), because he is still bitter about failing to take home his own statuette for CHICAGO.

The director was thrilled when the RENEE ZELLWEGER and CATHERINE ZETA-JONES-starring movie garnered six gongs at the 2003 ceremony, but insists the Best Picture Oscar, which traditionally honours movie producers, is rightfully his.

And he’s calling on organisers to change the rules.

He says, “But I didn’t get the statuette for Best Picture, that goes to the producer.

“But now I think about it, the Best Picture should go to the director.

“They should change the rules.”
